Blazing a trail of lusty fire with sounds that hover between sensual bedroom enchantment to sonorously thumping nightclub dance floor knockouts, multi-platinum singer/songwriter Dawn Richard, is simultaneously sizzling hot and electronic music’s baddest bitch on the block.
The delightful emergence of the former Danity Kane diva’s dexterous and multifaceted capabilities shine throughout her latest sultry banger, “Not Above That”, with celestial grace. The artistically aesthetic charm throughout Dawn’s futuristic lyrical video for “Not Above That” injects viewers with ethereal alchemy while soaring through sublime chromatic dynamite.
Dawn’s fearless symmetry of expression is stimulating the senses of her audience through deeply personal lyricism that is blended with a poetic touch that naturally derives a receptive reaction. The sultry songbird is gearing up to rock the world with buoyant energy and embark on her Redemption 2016 Tour, which kicked off on March 12th, 2016 at the historic Webster Hall in New York. If I were you, I would keep a watchful eye out for a date near you.
What titles are currently on your bookshelf?
Unreasonable Hope by Chad Veach.
Explain a time in which you have walked through your fear and succeeded despite a high-pressure challenge.
Every day that I walk onto a stage.
Name three people on your guest list for an ideal dinner party.
Grace Jones, Stan Lee and Werner Herzog.
You are playing at the historic Webster Hall on the first stop of your Redemption 2016 Tour. How are you feeling about that?
We are sold out so I’m feeling amazing. [It is the] second time we’ve sold out that venue.
If you knew that today were the last day of your life, where would you spend it and why?
In New Orleans with my family. They are the best going away present.

I’m quite shy. I’m not really a fan of people or crowds.
Name one poem that touches the deepest core of your being.
The Tyger by William Blake.
You are able to grant one human being with a lifetime achievement award who would you give it to and why?
My brother. He just does everything, he is incredibly smart and an amazing husband and dad.
How will Redemption Heart make a change in the EDM world in 2016?
I hope it will change the way people view structure in music. More than just EDM, but that the connection to soul, electronic and urban culture will collide.
Who of your musical contemporaries do you listen to most?
Right now I don’t listen to anyone while I’m creating my project.
What is the philosophy that underpins your life?
“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” Dolly Parton said it best.
