What is the concept and ideology behind your art?
The concept behind my works is to provoke and show how crazy our consumption is. All of my works are made from garbage that I find in the trashcans of local supermarkets. People tend to get annoyed by me turning my “perfectly good food” into shoes and thereby wasting it, but the fun part is that it’s already thrown away.
What is your most vivid childhood memory?
My most vivid childhood memory was going fishing with my dad. I lived in a small fisherman’s town and my dad was a fisherman. Often times, when I got off from Kindergarten or school, I would go down to the docks and meet him when he arrived.
Which book or novel would best visualize your art?
I really have no idea which book or novel would fit my works. I don’t think I would ever read it myself. I actually just happened to be quite good at making shoes from garbage and then after a while, it just made sense to bring in the waste perspective. So, probably something about waste and how people get mad at you for doing something that is actually good.
Tell us about your most vivid dream.
My most vivid and actually, most returning dream, is me working a big film set with what feels like millions of assistants who asked me all of these weird questions. It was me trying my best to get the film rolling and these assistants on my tail every time I did something.
