FIGHT OR FLIGHT
Amiredjibi’s collection begins with a question facing a generation caught between resistance and departure: Do I keep fighting for change, or leave my home behind?
THE LANGUAGE OF PROTEST
Graffiti / Satire / Cultural Memory / Upcycling / Resistance / Preservation
Drawing from Tbilisi’s concrete walls covered in tags alongside traditional Georgian dress, Fight or Flight translates the visual language of protest into clothing. Fabric treatments, reconstructed textiles, and altered silhouettes become records of political tension and youth resistance.

LOOK 5: PIONEER KOBAKHIDZE
Satire becomes a weapon. Referencing Soviet school uniforms and the red scarves worn by the USSR’s Young Pioneers, the look confronts what Amiredjibi sees as Georgia’s regression toward its Soviet past. Even the exaggerated hat becomes a political caricature, mimicking the recognizable hairstyle of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

THE CROSSROADS
For Amiredjibi, Georgian youth are confronting a loss of agency amid the country’s political instability and the influence of neighboring Russia. The collection turns that uncertainty into a choice between two primal instincts: fight or flight.

PRESERVATION = RESISTANCE
“Coming from a 2,500-year-old nation whose territory has long been contested by larger for- eign powers and subjected to cultural erasure, I see preservation as a form of resistance.” Here, traditional dress is not nostalgia. It becomes a way of protecting cultural memory and insisting that it survives.
