SERGIO TORO

An exploration of wild animal beauty through natural texture and form, and its connection to the human body.

Born in Ukraine and based in New York, Sergio Toro spent over a decade designing footwear at scale before turning toward something far more personal. Since launching his studio in 2012, he has focused on one-of-a-kind pieces that push the body into unfamiliar territory— elongated, off-balance, almost creature-like. Drawing from mythology, emotion, and a darker visual sensibility, his work treats footwear as a site of transformation, where form and body are reworked together.

VISUAL IDENTITY:

The visual identity leans predatory and instinctive, with sculptural forms that feel sensual and dark.

NEXT WAVE INDICATOR:

The next collection moves in a completely different direction, with details still under wraps.

DEFINING MOTIFS:

• Manta ray–inspired body shapes with wide, winged spans

• Open-jaw structures that frame the foot like a bite mid-motion

• Horn-like extensions and split forms that push outward from the shoe

• Fang-inspired detailing that tapers into fine, aggressive points

• High-gloss surfaces paired with stingray skin, python scales, and gazelle fur

• Curved lines that suggest coiling, striking, or movement mid-action

• A dark palette anchored in black, slate, smoked plum, and bone, finished with silver hardware
