Tell us about your brand and what makes it unique.
Alien Earth Designs is owned and operated by Heather Krogemann. Our hand-crafted couture gowns are one-of-a-kind and inspired by history. I strive to bring a creative look to each garment and make a person not only look good, but feel amazing. My designs are unique because of the time I spend researching and gathering inspiration from history. They say history repeats itself and I agree with that, but I find ways to repeat history with a piece of my own vision. Ten years ago, I began exploring wearable art and how to turn an average everyday item that would be thrown away or recycled into something beautiful. When I started exploring this, it inspired me to pursue and create my couture gowns. It wasn’t something I had ever expected to do career wise, but after seeing my creations, I knew it was what I needed to do. I have a very unusual background. I started out in the military as a mechanic, then I was a state patrol officer, and then I received a degree in animation. When you combine all of your life experiences, you became open to so much more. Life becomes a palette that you are able to create from.

What challenge have you faced throughout your career made you stronger? The main challenge I faced that made me stronger and more determined happened in college. So many people told me that it wasn’t possible to work, go to school, and be successful at the same time. I find that when people in my life try to tell me I can’t do something, I work harder and become more determined to make it happen.

If you could dress any famous leader in this world, who would you choose and why?
I would love to dress Emma Watson or Priyanka Chopra. Emma Watson is an amazing humanitarian and gives so much for young women to look up too. Priyanka Chopra is also one of those women that makes an impact on the world.

Which five things do you absolutely need in your life to maintain your creativity and motivation? My love for history, driving, crazy odd art, daydreaming, and the people in my life.

Describe your dream fashion house in three sentences.
My dream fashion house would be a creative space surrounded by the tools and people I need to make one-of-a-kind designs. It would be a place that is welcoming and inspirational to everyone, a place that can make the impossible possible.
