SOPHKA

Stand up and keep fighting!

Before fashion became the plan, Sophia was a child in Germany exploring every creative outlet her parents put in front of her—piano, figure skating, rhythmic gymnastics, and then, at twelve, sewing on her grandmother’s old hand-operated machine. Speech therapy came first after school, but it didn’t last, and fashion pulled her back harder. Now, her work depends on craft as much as concept, and for Sophia, it’s essential that her designs communicate a message and encourage reflection. Whether through hand-felted wool, individually twisted spikes, or the extra human effort she puts in, each piece comes through as wearable art for the modern woman.

VISUAL IDENTITY:

Her visual identity comes from fight and resistance, with freedom at its core—rebellious, dangerous, and pushing against what’s usually accepted.

NEXT WAVE INDICATOR:

Her work will continue to push toward something louder, bolder, and more experimental. What matters is not just how it looks, but what it communicates—and the questions it leaves behind.

DEFINING MOTIFS:

• Hand-twisted spikes framing the shoulders and bodice

• Structured neckline opening into a deep plunge

• Dense, feathered lower half creating volume through layered construction

• White palette pushing against the idea of purity, redirecting it toward strength

• Materials worked by hand, emphasizing labor over finish

• References to ongoing feminist struggle across time and culture

• A piece that centers women as active, not passive
